Information Society Days at the EU InfoCentre

On 9 March the EU InfoCentre organized the Panel Discussion “Information and Communication Technologies for Government and Public Services” aimed at sharing the EU’s experiences and best practices in this area. Moreover, the panel discussion intended to encourage further national discussion and necessary actions concerning the usage of ICT for Government and Public Services.

Mr. Ivo IVANOVSKI, Minister of Information Society spoke about the main opportunities and challenges for smarter online public services for citizens and businesses, while Mr. Lukas MELKA, Head of Economic and Finance Operations in the Delegation of European Union reflected on the results of the Ministerial Declaration on eGovernment approved at the EU’s 5th Ministerial eGovernment Conference in Malmö, Sweden. The Slovenian Ambassador Alain BERGANT talked about the Slovenian path to eGoverment and shared the Slovenian experiences and presented the impact of eGoverment on better public services for growth and jobs and effective and efficient administration.

The panel discussion was the final in the series of events Information Society Days that were taking place at the EU InfoCentre from 9 February – 9 March.
