New EU Info Point opened at NUB “Sv. Kliment Ohridski”
On 02 June, a new European Union Information Point was opened at
the National and University Library “Sv. Kliment Ohridski” in
Skopje.
The EU Info Point was officially inaugurated by Ambassador Erwan
FOUÉRÉ and Ivica BOCEVSKI, Deputy Prime Minister for European
integration.
“As the EU integration advances, the dissemination of
information on EU policies will become increasingly specialised,
so it will be essential for the EU relays to provide these
information to the citizens. The EU Info Points and the EUi(s)
have proven to be reliable partners”, said Ambassador FOUÉRÉ at
the opening ceremony.
The EU Info Point in the NUB “Sv. Kliment Ohridski” will be part
of the EU Information Network which consists of 7 Info Points
located in the municipalities of Bitola, Gostivar, Kavadarci,
Kocani, Kumanovo, Tetovo and Veles, and 3 EUi-s at the Skopje,
Bitola and Tetovo universities. This Information Network is
coordinated by the EU InfoCentre in Skopje.
The main objective of EU Info Points is to be a place where
citizens will learn about the functioning of the European Union,
its institutions, policies and programmes as well as the
development of the relations between the EU and the former
Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. The Information Points offer
free access to publications related to the EU, free access to
the Europa websites as well as a chance to participate in
meetings where EU related topics of interest for the citizens
are discussed.
