European films at the “Manaki Brothers” Film Festival

The 30th International Cinematographers Film Festival “Manaki Brothers” was opened on 26 September in Bitola, with the screening of the British film Slumdog Millionaire, directed by Danny Boyle (2008).

The Festival's programme encompasses selection of 11 short film nominees for the European Film Awards, 13 films in official competition, 6 documentaries, 5 films in “New Visions Programme” and many others in the additional programmes of the Festival. This year's Festival has been supported by the EU Mission's Information and Communication Programme, thus communicating diversity of European cultures and the art of film to the public.

On 27 September, a panel discussion entitled: The future of cinema is digital? was organised in collaboration with the European Film Academy and participation of prominent cinematographers, such as Antony Dod Mantle (Cinematographer of the film Slumdog Millionaire), Yuri Klimenko, Danny Elsen, who will analyse the technical and aesthetical aspects of the topic.

Ambassador Erwan Fouéré handed over Life achievement award Golden Camera 300 to the British Cinematographer, Peter Suschitzky.
