Together we are stronger and we can save our planet!
– say the children who attended a lecture on climate change at the EU InfoCentre

Approximately 60 students attending elementary schools from nine out of the 10 municipalities in Skopje were present at a lecture on climate change on 3 November as part of the Climate Change Days, organised by the EU InfoCentre. The children were also shown documentaries from the EU's Audio Visual Service related to climate change.

Following the lecture, the students took part in a workshop during which messages related to the climate changes were produced. The messages are now exhibited on a special exhibiting stand made in the form of a windmill. The children sent out the following messages:

- Ride a bicycle! ;
- Don’t destroy the trees ;
- Together we are strong and we can save our planet! ;
- Take care of the nature for a safer future! ;
- Recycle! ;
- Ice glaciers should be saved!

In prospect of the Copenhagen Climate Change Summit 2009, the EU Mission will organise a series of events related to the EU’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the action for adapting European policies to the realities of climate change.

The aim is to raise awareness of the human impact on the climate, to inform about new approaches to reducing greenhouse emissions and to call for joint action to combat climate change. Moreover, the aim is to encourage further national discussion on climate change issues and necessary actions.
